Another recent addition is The American Prairie Collection, built in Knotty Alder and designed
for clients who are looking for distressed, rustic items without the log look.
Our original Yellowstone Collection, built in Lodgepole Pine, expanded over the years as we received requests for more unusual, and often custom items. The Gallatin Group developed from the design of our Gallatin billiard table, as clients asked us to build other game tables in that style.

The American Prairie Collection by Drawknife Billiards was inspired by the Prairie School designs of such people as Frank Lloyd Wright. This collection offers clients game furniture in a simple basic style, as well as more custom pieces with their choice panel and metal trim details. |

The American Prairie Collection is designed to offer our clients another choice in custom, rustic, game room furniture. This new group is built from Knotty Alder, a wood that works well for rustic home furnishings.
The new American Prairie Collection incorporates clean, simple lines, with a naturally distressed look. These pieces can range from the Basic Style, products that allow the beauty of the unusual knots and grain patterns of the wood to dominate, to the Paneled Style, which enhances the basic pieces by the addition of trim panels on the body, base or legs of the item. We can also add other items, such as metal clavos, etc. to give these pieces a distinctive look. |

Custom Variations
Since the introduction of the American Prairie Collection, Drawknife Billiards has been able to expand our ability to respond to a wider variety of requests for custom game room furniture.
While the Basic pieces in the collection are built in a simple style, the addition of panels, as well as various other metal trim details on the body and legs, can make each piece a part of a unique family game room.
We encourage you to use your imagination to put together the perfect game room with games to please adults as well as young people.

The
Yellowstone
Collection

The Yellowstone Collection is our original product group, built using logs from our surrounding forests. Over the years, we have expanded this line with some new billiard table designs as well as a variety of new game tables and other items to allow our clients to put together a totally unique rustic game room for their family and friends.
We offer three levels of wood character for models in The Yellowstone Collection: Standard, Wilderness and Burl. Just review the descriptions below and click the picture to the left of your selection to see pictures of pieces in that style.

Standard
These pieces are the least distressed. The logs are the ones most commonly found in the forests and may have occasional worm holes or beetle-tracking to add interest. The finished items are usually simpler in design than our other styles.

Wilderness
The pieces in this group use logs that are chosen for their unique, natural, heavily-distressed character. They are less prevelant in the forest than the standard logs. In order to build a wilderness item, our shop craftsmen need to select logs with similar character that will work well together in the final product. These logs also require more time to prepare and finish than the standard logs.

Burl
To make our burl tables and accessories, we look for the most unusual logs in the forest. Due to the knobby, knotty character of burl, these pieces never look alike, even when they are built using the same design. Like the wilderness logs, burl logs must be carefully selected by hand to create an aesthetically pleasing piece that will be a beautiful, artistic addition to a rustic game room. |

Gallatin

Unlike our Yellowstone collection that creates its rustic look with log legs and trim, the Gallatin pieces incorporate rustic details through the use of quarter-round log trim in the rectangular insets in the legs, bodies and pedestals of the various items. In the case of the Gallatin billiard, pool or snooker tables, we also use log trim on the rails and aprons. |

Gallatin
We usually produce these pieces with a medium brown stain on the body and legs, (usually our Pure American), and a dark walnut stain on the inset trim logs to add interest and enhance the design elements.
